PADI Tec40
The PADI Tec 40 program is broken down into 3 segments:
- Theory
- Limited Open Water Training/Pool Training
- Technical Open Water Training Dives
The theory starts off in the classroom where we do some presentations about technical diving and what you are getting yourself into. We then discuss and review different types of equipment configuration and how to plan then execute a technical dive.
The next stage is assembling the equipment needed in technical diving and as you can imagine there is more to it than a simple recreational set up so we show you the correct way to assemble and test your technical diving equipment.
Next comes the fun part of planning some simulated decompression dives and getting wet at the pool or at one of our limited open water training sites. Here our instructors will demonstrate all the techniques and drills required of a technical diver. You will learn how to perfectly control your buoyancy while doing simple tasks underwater then move onto more stressful tasks like out of gas drills and following a decompression schedule.
Lastly we have our open water training dives, you will complete 2 open water training dives and 1 actual decompression dive totalling 4 dives on the course. During the training dives you will put into practice precise planning and executing of simulated decompression dives whilst performing an overall mission. You will put into practice the skills learnt in the pool session as well as your mission.
The last dive of the course is always the best, all the preparation and training culminates in a 40m Decompression dive with a gas switch to 50% EANX for conservatism. There is minimal training on this dive and it is a dive to show us what you have learnt during the course. You will lead the dive and we will be your team mates to give you hints if you need them.
Do you have what it takes to become a Technical diver?
